8 Days Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari

This trip ascends to the northwest of Uganda, visiting areas like the ziwa rhino sanctuary, Murchison falls national park, Kibale Forest National Park, queen Elizabeth national park, and Lake Mburo National Park. It will involve seeing a great number of animals/gem, different bird species, chimpanzee tracking, as well as gorilla tracking

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Murchison Falls National park  – Enroute Ziwa Rhino Tracking

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our company representative who will drive you to northwest of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop by the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to view the white rhinos. You will get a chance getting out of the vehicle and track these giant animals on foot. Uganda with the help of non-governmental organizations, are trying to breed these animals as they had gone into extinct due to severe poaching. However, there is a steady increase of rhinos as they are highly protected and the breeding is high, allowing tourists to visit them. You will also get a chance to see other animals like the waterbucks, warthogs, vervet monkeys, Uganda kobs, black and white colobus monkeys and many others. After a tracking/walk to the rhinos, you will have lunch and later proceed to Murchison Falls National Park

Upon reaching it, you will enter through the kicumbanyobo gate in the southern part of the park and later proceed through budongo forest reserve, which stretches to the park. See animals mostly the primates like the olive baboons, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, African elephants, African cape buffaloes and many others.

We also expect to pass by the top of the falls where we shall have a good view of the Nile river forcing its self into a narrow gap of 8 meters and falls deep down into 45 meters. This gives you a magnificent view of the Nile River that is the longest river in the world.

After we shall continue to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : Game Viewing & Launch Cruise

Have an early morning breakfast and after we will proceed to the park looking for animals like the Roth’s child giraffe, Jackson’s heart beast, oribis, African cape buffaloes, African elephants, warthogs, Uganda kobs, water backs, pattas monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons as well as abundant number of hippos. This game drive will help you see animals like lions, leopards, jackels, Hayners, serval cats, civet cats and many more animals. You will also get a chance to see birds like the yellow vented bulbul, herons, cattle egrets, piapiac, lilac breasted rollers, Abyssinian ground hornbills, little egrets, common tchagras, Egyptian goose, little egrets, African wattled lapwings, scaley francolins, different types of weavers, black headed gonoleks, and many more. After the game drive, we proceed direct to a boat ride on the Nile. This boat tour takes around 2 hours, and this helps to see animals like the hippos, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants, buffaloes and waterbucks that come to drink water. Water birds like the African fish eagles, pied kingfisher, pygmy kingfisher, giant king fisher, African water thicknee, marsh sand piper, yellow billed storks, knob billed ducks, black crake and many others.

After we come back at our lodge for lunch and relaxation as we wait for our dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest Park

We wake up for breakfast and later, we proceed to Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking. Passing through the green lushes of the big tea plantations/fields, your guide will explain to you how Uganda makes different types of tea like black, green, and oolong tea. He will also explain or educate you how African culture and there norms are living or practiced. Lunch will be got on the way.

Until we reach your accommodation will be near the forest. Stay at kibale guest house, kibale tourist lodge, guereza lodge, or turaco treetop

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking

Wake up in the morning and assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee tracking. Here, you will be registered, briefed about the park, and later allocated to the guide plus 2 armed rangers whose duties is to scare away dangerous animals like the elephants and buffaloes with even when you encounter non-habituated chimpanzee. This is commonly done by scare shooting though which is not common. The forest may give you a chance to see animals like the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, le’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and many more animals.

After the tracking, come back for lunch and after you will have a traditional visit to the coffee quin who will take you through the coffee processing and teach you how coffee is grown, a banana man that will help to educate you how we Africans make the local gin, local bear and local banana juice. You will also learn to cook the traditional food, as well as having the traditional dance. Come back to our lodge for dinner and over night

Day 5: Game Viewing & Boat Cruise

Have breakfast at our lodge, we will continue ascending to Queen Elizabeth national park. The distance is very short, which will enable you to view the big banana plantations, which signifies that Uganda is the second banana-producing country in the world. You will stop by the equator in queen Elizabeth National Park. Have an equator experiment and later continue to our lodge for lunch.

After lunch, we have a boat ride on kazinga channel. On the channel, you will be able to see schools of hippos, turns of African elephants that come to drink water, the African buffaloes, Uganda kobs, water back, and warthogs that all come to drink water. Later, we shall go back to our lodge for dinner and over night

Day 6: Lion Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi Forest

Wake up early after heavy breakfast and proceed to the park for a lion and leopard tracking activity. This will enable you see /visit different prides of lions as well as leopards. The tracking is done in the car to prevent any attacks. Learn about lions and leopards as well as taking photos and videos of these animals.

After the activity we shall continue to Bwindi national park. Lunch is got on the way and later proceed until we reach. Stay at Gorilla leisure lodge, 4 gorilla lodge, gorilla haven lodge and many.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Have breakfast at the lodge and later assemble at the national park headquarters to have a brief history and information about the park and the animals, birds, plants, reptiles, and many more about the park.

You will be put in a small organized group of not more than 8 people and allocated to your gorilla family that you are going to track and also be allocated to guide who will be having escorts that he/she will introduce to you. Afterward, ascend to the park and start the tracking. The tracking may take the whole day or half a day, depending on the location of the gorilla family. This will enable you to move with your packed lunch and enough water for your tracking. After the tracking come back at the hotel for your dinner and overnight

Day 8: Departure

Have your morning breakfast and later proceed to Kampala/airport for your departure
