Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & transfer to the hotel in Nairobi
At the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, expect to meet your experienced Kenya safari guide. Get a warm welcome and after, you will board the classic safari vehicle. Leave the airport and transfer to the hotel your tour operator booked for you in advance.

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli by road
After a hefty breakfast, expect to meet your safari guide who will first take you through what you should expect on your road trip. Later, board a classic 4×4 safari vehicle ready to embark on a road trip transfer to Amboseli National Park.
The Nairobi to Amboseli road trip will take about 3-4 hours and on arrival, expect to enjoy the breathtaking Kilimanjaro Volcano at a distance. Proceed to the lodge to check in and later, you will be served a delicious lunch.
Have some relaxation and after, you will have an afternoon game drive. On a game drive, expect to search for different wildlife in Amboseli Game Park including the zebras, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and birds. Return to the lodge to relax and also enjoy your dinner.

Day 3: A full-day wildlife tour in Amboseli
After a hefty breakfast, expect to go on an enriching game-viewing session with an expert. Myriad of Amboseli wild animals will be encountered including elephants, leopards, gazelles, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, and a diversity of antelopes like the Kirk’s dik-diks, gazelles, and more. Today, you will have a full day in Amboseli National Park which includes a picnic lunch then you proceed with the afternoon game viewing session.

Day 4: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha for birding
Check out of the lodge in Amboseli and you will be transferred to Lake Naivasha. Naivasha is where you will have the best of birding excursion. A variety of birds live in Lake Naivasha including cardinal woodpeckers, arrow-marked babblers, wahlberg’s honey-guide, white-fronted bee-eaters, black-lored babblers, green wood hoopoe, pelicans, flamingos, African grey, and more.
You will have an afternoon birding session using a boat along the shores of Lake Naivasha and accompanying you will be an experienced guide. Lake Naivasha is an Important Bird Area with a total of about 400 bird species.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha-Lake Nakuru
After a delicious breakfast, you will embark on the morning birding tour. Look out for more birds you missed the previous day. Later, expect to connect to Lake Nakuru National Park about 1 hour drive. Arrive early at Lake Nakuru, home to more than 500 bird species including migratory and resident species.
At Lake Nakuru National Park, expect to come across bird species such as the pelicans, pink flamingos, black-tailed Godwit, lappet-faced vultures, white-backed vultures, white-headed vultures, Abyssinian thrush, ostriches, Dark chanting-goshawk, steppe eagle, long-crested eagle, brown snake eagle, Northern pintail, Egyptian goose, red-billed duck, Northern shovelers, laughing dove, red-eyed doe, speckled pigeon, white-winged tern, gray-hooded gull, green sandpipers, Namaqua dove, white-bellied bustard, lapwings, plovers, black-winged stilt, and more.

Day 6: Drive up to Maasai Mara Reserve
Depart from Lake Nakuru National Park to Masai Mara. Overall, expect to spend about 5 hours on the road for you to connect up to the Maasai Mara Reserve. Masai Mara is where you can find all the Big 5 and also the wildebeests. Arrive early for you to check in your pre-booked safari lodge.

Day 7: A full day wildlife/game viewing in Maasai Mara Reserve
Have a hefty breakfast and after, exit your accommodation facility for a full day game viewing session. The 1510 sq. km Maasai Mara will have you exposed to diversity of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos, wildebeest, zebras, cheetahs, giraffes, and multiple bird species. Return to the lodge when you have finished the afternoon session. At the lodge, you will have ample time to chill, dine, and later retire for a night.

Day 8: Departure
After a delicious cup of tea/coffee, you will be picked and today, expect to drive back to Nairobi capital. Your road trip to Nairobi will take between 5 and 6 hours. On arrival, you will be dropped off at the hotel/airport.
