Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Expect to transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park by road and this will be after you have had breakfast. On arrival at Lake Nakuru Park, you will check in the lodge to have some relaxation and also an early lunch.

In the afternoon, you will exit the lodge and head off for a game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is most popular for its diverse wildlife including the Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, lions, serval cats, hyenas, jackals, zebras, mongoose, buffaloes, genet, and more.

A diversity of birds can also be spotted including the pink flamingoes, pelicans, sandgrouse, guineafowl, yellow-billed stork, long-crested eagle, doves, and others.

Day 2: Game drive & Travel to Lake Naivasha

Early morning, you will have a hefty breakfast and after, proceed with a guided game drive. Today’s game drive allows you to look for more wildlife in Lake Nakuru National Park. After the special game viewing session, you will drive to Lake Naivasha –one of the leading birding destinations in Kenya.

Over 450 species of birds have been recorded in the Lake Naivasha including black-tailed Godwit, bar-tailed Godwit, curlew sandpipers, blue-billed teal, black-headed gull, skimmers, and others.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara

Leave your lodge/camp for your Crescent Island Game Sanctuary excursion. The sanctuary lies on the Eastern end of Lake Naivasha and you will a boat ride. At the sanctuary, you will come across different species including elands, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and more. It also holds over 200 species of birds including black crakes, fish eagles, ospreys, herons, etc.

After you have explored Crescent Island, expect to connect to the Maasai Mara Reserve. Arrive at the Maasai Mara early for you to check in your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stays.

Day 4: Enjoy a full day in Maasai Mara

Embark on a full-day game viewing with some packed lunch. With the presence of an experienced guide, navigate via the enriching game tracks expecting to encounter wildlife such as leopards, impalas, zebras, gazelles, hyenas, lions, cheetahs, and foxes. The Great Migration is best witnessed around July to September.

Day 5: Masai Mara for a full day

You may get back to the wilderness to enjoy a game drive or opt for another activity like hot air balloon tour. The sunrise hot balloon excursion comes with magical aerial views of Masai Mara’s wildlife and bush breakfast. In the afternoon, you will have a short game viewing session and later connect to the Maasai village for cultural interaction with the Maasai people.

Day 6: Masai Mara to Amboseli

Depart from Maasai Mara for Amboseli which is found in the southern end of Kenya. Your journey will run for about 7 to 8 hours. En route journey covers lunch and on arrival, you will have a moment at the observation hill. The rest of the evening will be had at the lodge.

Day 7: Explore Amboseli full-day

A full-day will be dedicated for you to explore Amboseli National Park. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the wilderness and you will get back to the lodge or camp for relaxation.

Day 8: Amboseli to Tsavo West –Game viewing

Have a leisurely breakfast at your respective accommodation and after, you will exit Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park. Driving to Tsavo West takes about 1-2 hours and on arrival, you will proceed with a game drive. Tsavo West National Park is home to different wildlife including buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, etc. You will drive to the lodge to settle for lunch and also have some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will be paying a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary and Mzima Springs.

Day 9: Long day game drive in Tsavo East

Day 10: Departure from Tsavo East to Nairobi
