Best time to do gorilla habituation in Bwindi

But the ideal period is during the peak dry season from June to September or December to February, when the weather conditions are favorable for navigating through the jungle. These dry months experience minimal rainfall, with the ground often kept relatively drier, thus making it easier to trek through the jungle with mountain gorillas. This is not the case with the rainy or wet season, which comes with heavy rains, and the floor is slippery/muddy.
The advantage with the rainy or off-season is that very few visitors come for the habituation, thus allowing you to enjoy your adventure without many crowds. This is excellent for tourists who are interested in a more exclusive experience. There is also a chance to enjoy discounted offers from the accommodation properties or other service providers. The wet or rainy season is recorded from March to May and October to November.
The demand for habituation permits tends to reduce around the off months compared to the peak season. But generally, you should consider booking a gorilla habituation early and not to wait till the last minute.
