Semuliki Valley National Park is found in western Uganda, neighboring the democratic republic of Congo. Also found down on the foothills of Rwenzori mountains, it lies along the shores of lake Albert which is one of the biggest lakes in Uganda sharing its borders with democratic republic of congo. This park has a total area coverage of 220sqkm, and was established as a forest reserve in 1932 and gazette as a national park in 1993and is best known for its birding sport that lies along congo basin and semuliki river which originates from lake Edward in Kasese district of rwenzururu kingdom while beginning at ishango in democratic republic of congo and flows through Virunga national park in congo to semuliki national park intil it drops in lake albert. The park has a number of animals like the lopards, African buffaloes,African civet cats, bush babies, African elephants, water backs, warthogs and many more monkey. This park has 9 species of monkeys, 374 species of butterflies,440 species of birds,336species of plants. Upon visiting the park, you can be able to visit the 2 mega hot springs of the world called Sempaya hot springs where we have both male and female hot springs.
4 Days Semliki Valley National Park Safari
Day 1, you will be picked up by our company guide who will drive you to the western par of Uganda. Here the distance will take you 7 hours, pass through the green lushes of tea plantations that are so nice attractive. Here you will get tought or learn about the tea plantations/growing and until processing. As of Uganda produces three types of tea namely oolong, green tea and black tea. However most of the tea grown and produced in Uganda is drunk by Arab countries. Have lunch on the way and stay at semuliki safari lodge, Havannah campsite.
Day 2, after an early breakfast, we start our day by having a full day game dive within the park. Here we expect to see a number of animals like the African cape buffaloes, African elephants, kobs, bush backs, leopards, civevt cats, advarks, waterbacks, warthogs and many other birdspecies. Later in the evening have a rest as we wait for dinner and overnight at our lodge
Day 3, wake up at out lodge, have breakfast and proceed sempaya hot springs. Here we shall have full historical and geographical information about the formation of the hotsprings and why nthehy are formed. Later we shall proceed to amabere ganyinamwiru/ the breasts of the mother of mwiru, where we shall also expect to learn more about the geographical and historical stories or information about the stalagatites and stalagamites of the area. After we have a crater hike to the crater lakes and later proceed to fort portal town where we shall spend our night.
Day 4, after a warm morning game drive, we shall move back to our home / airport as we fly back.
