2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek

This 2 day Rwanda gorilla trek take you to Volcanoes National Park located in northwestern Rwanda. The Bamboo Forest Park is home to the highest population of mountain gorillas in the Virunga Conservation Area. The 2 Days Gorilla Adventure brings you close to man’s close relatives “the gorillas” in their natural habitats. You will get a chance to spend an hour with a habituated gorilla family as you learn and embrace their human-like behaviors. Volcanoes National Park shelters over 400 mountain gorillas which live together in 10 families.  The gorilla groups in Volcanoes National Park include Agashya Gorilla family, Hirwa Group, Umubano Group, Amahoro Group, Susa A Group, the Karisimbi Group, the Pablo Group, and Titus Family

In addition to gorilla trekking, the 3 Days tour includes a visit to the Iby’iwacu cultural village to learn and experience Rwanda’s traditions and customs.

Rwanda has over the years been famous for offering luxury gorilla trekking safaris compared to Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500 valid for an hour with the gorillas

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park & Ibyiwacu cultural Tour

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, the driver guide from Sarania Adventure Safaris Limited will welcome you for the 2-day gorilla adventure. Go for a Kigali city tour to explore some of the tourist destinations in the city center such as Kigali genocide memorial center, Kimironko Market, and Kigali Convention Centre. Thereafter embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northwestern part of Rwanda. The transfer journey roughly takes 2 to 3 hours, offering breathtaking views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and lush landscapes. Check into the lodge and refresh.  You will then visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (now known as the Gorilla Guardians Village) for a rich cultural experience, showcasing traditional Rwandan dances, music, and crafts. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Departure:

Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes National Park to catch up with pre trekking briefing.  Assemble at the park headquarters for registration and gorilla family allocation. Rwanda cultural performers will welcome and entertain you with traditional dances, songs, and poems, At 8:00 am, start the hike uphill in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. You will be allocated two armed park rangers on your trek to meet the gorillas. The actual trekking time is not certain but ranges between 2-6 hours depending on the location of the endangered primates. On a good day, you may encounter other wild animals such as golden monkeys, Forest Elephants, and several Colobus monkeys on your search for the gorillas.  On meeting the gorillas, the allowed time is strictly an hour counted from the moment you met them.  Enjoy an encounter with gorillas, learn their social behaviors and feel this magical interaction. Thereafter, return to the park headquarters for  your trekking certificate and drive to Kigali for your departure flight
