Detailed Itinerary

Very early today at 4: 00 am, your driver guide from Sarania Adventure Safaris Limited will pick you up from either Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. You will drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in northwestern Rwanda and home to the endangered mountain gorillas.  The journey from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park takes approximately 2-3 hours, passing through rolling hills, local communities, and towns. Once you reach Kinigi Park headquarters, you will participate in a pre- gorilla trekking briefing and receive guidelines. You will also be registered and assigned a gorilla family to trek.

The trek to meet the gorillas begins at 8: 00 am, and the duration can vary significantly, lasting between 1-7 hours depending on the location of the endangered gorillas and your hiking pace. The trek is undeniably strenuous as you hike uphill and downhill in search of the gorillas. After meeting the endangered gorillas, you will have an hour to spend in their company. Enjoy watching how gorillas fulfill different roles within their family. The Silverback gorilla serves as the head and overseer of the entire family, while adult female gorillas are mothers who nurse and care for the young ones.
